Aldo Terlato is an Australia born Couturier Fashion Designer of, Italian Sicilian Heritage.

Aldo is renowned for his Haute Couture Masterpiece of intricate detailing & perfection in cut & fit to enhance the female form & beauty. Aldo opened his doors to his boutique / studio in 1988 to present day, clocking up 3 decades in the fashion industry.

Born Gesualdo Terlato known to all by Aldo has achieved great success in Australia & Internationally, selling selected Bridal gowns from his Collection in London, Montreal (Canada), Catania (Sicily) and New York.

A multi award winning designer, one of Aldo’s greatest achievement & dear to his heart was winning the prestigious “Australian Gown of The Year Awards” in 1995 & “The Australia Wool Awards”.

Aldo has a large client base Australia wide & has dressed many glamorous women over his 30-year career. Some of his A list clients includes Lisa McCune winning a gold Logie in Aldo custom creation, he also dressed Margot Robbie, Sonia Kruger, Marina Prior, Madeline west Kate Richie & the list goes on, whenever there’s a Red-Carpet being Logies, Brownlow or any event you are sure to find his creations.

Aldo has appeared on prime-time TV, Lifestyle Shows, News etc. as a Fashion Critic. He has also featured in print newspapers & magazines, and Fashion Judging Panels such as Miss Australia.

This year being 30 years in Haute Couture Fashion, Aldo has embarked on a lifelong dream of designing high end shoes, drawing on his couture experience hence the birth of GTERLATO.COM.AU.

As a result of such a stellar career and the new launching of his new brand, Melbournian born Gesualdo Terlato was part of the trade mission delegation of over 220 creatives in design ranging from:

  • communications
  • game development
  • wellbeing
  • fashion
  • manufacturing

The big event was BODW Hong Kong 2108 where these creatives could forge new connections and create new business opportunities with partners from across the globe.

A venue in Hong Kong that houses art and cultural exhibitions, community workshops, performances, screening and special events was the perfect location to show case

  • Recognition, a First peoples` exhibition and film of the same name, curated by stylist Phillip Boon
  • CURATED, presented by the Australian Fashion Council
  • Fashion, territories: so, what is fashion? Works by students from RMIT University
  • Great South Style – Mindful Australian Design, works by Kangan Institute and students.
  • Immersive art and design practice and ENESS where both showcased their interactive public art installation and Sonic Bubble.

G Terlato was exhibited in the Kangaroo Room in WE ARE LUXURY along with other outstanding Couture gowns, costumes, shoe and bespoke pieces of wearable art jewellery pieces.

The grand event was opened by The Hon. Linda Dessau AC Governor of Victoria and the Victorian Minister of Creative Industries Peter Foley with an amazing audience of the who’s who from Victoria and Hong Kong collectively.

Being part of Melbourne city`s biggest ever international showcase with over 90 fashion and accessory designers was indeed a proud moment of established couture fashion designer Aldo Terlato to spring into launch internationally his new immerging shoe label GTERLATO.COM.AU.
